Defending Dakota Athletic Conference Champion Dakota State Women’s Basketball Team Wins First round of the DAC Postseason Tournament February 25, 2008 An enthusiastic crowd watched the #1 seed Dakota State Lady T’s, defeat eighth seed Valley City State 88-59 on Sunday at the DSU Memorial Field House. The Lady T’s were led by Jessica VanLoy’s 25 points and nine rebounds with Laura Tewes adding 12 points and eight rebounds. Maria Gengler had 11 rebounds and blocked five shots in the game. The Lady T’s outrebounded the Vikings, 54-44. The tenth ranked Dakota State Lady T’s will host Mayville State, 85-52 winner over fifth seeded South Dakota School of Mines, on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm. In other quarterfinals action, sixth seeded Jamestown upset #3 seed Minot State in Minot, ND, 67-54. Jamestown will play on the road as they will face second seeded Black Hills State, 86-64 winner over #7 seed Dickinson State, on Wednesday night in Spearfish, SD at 7:00 pm (MT). The winner of Wednesday night’s games will move to the finals of the DAC Postseason Tournament. The DAC Tournament Champion will represent the conference at the NAIA National Division II Tournament in Sioux City, IA, on March 12th-18th.
