DSU HIM Students Write Articles for National E-Newsletter

The Health Information Management program at Dakota State University was chosen as the feature school for the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Student Connection newsletter. The newsletter includes articles written by students from the featured school. A different school is featured each month.

The American Health Information Management Association is the premier association for health information management (HIM) professionals. The Student Connection newsletter is sent out to students nationwide with majors related to health information, such as technology or health information administration.

Three Dakota State HIM students wrote articles for the newsletter. They were Rebecca Moore, a senior from Howard majoring in health information administration; DSU Health Information Management Club president Roxanna Williams, a sophomore from Madison majoring in health information administration; and Sarah Keppen, a sophomore from Sioux Falls, SD majoring in health information administration.

The newsletter can be seen at www.ahima.org/marketing/MARAPR07_SC.htm.

More information about the HIM field can be found on the AHIMA website. More information about the DSU HIM program can be found at www.departments.dsu.edu/him or by contacting Dorine Bennett, the director of the HIM program.
